GDPR: Data Subjects Rights; Data Controllers Responsibilities

GDPR –Data Subjects Rights; Data Controllers Responsibilities .

In our last paper we explored the rights given to data subjects, our customers and the people we do business with.

As well as direct responsibilities under the GDPR there are a number of responsibilities that a data controller has as a result of being
accountable for ensuring the rights of data subjects are respected and
maintained.

This paper explores how these rights impact on Data Processors and Data Controllers running helpdesk/CRM software applications.

The requirement imposed on Data Controllers by the GDPR to enable data subjects to exercise the rights that the GDPR gives them means that systems processing personal data must have features beyond the rather more technical cyber security requirements imposed by the GDPRs direct requirements on
Data Controllers.

Product Design

The service desk design brief was to develop a product that could underpin the working practices set out in ITIL but also be quickly and easily configured to support current or new working practices using existing terminology. Our approach to implementation is to work closely with our customers, understanding requirements and reasons for change and ensuring that projects exceed expectations.
